Vocal Problems Come From The Same Place
Many singers are told they need more:
- Breath
- Support
- Power
But in reality, most vocal issues come from inefficient phonation—
using either too much effort, not enough coordination, or inconsistent balance between the two.
That’s why voices can feel:
- Overworked in some areas
- Underpowered in others
- Unpredictable from day to day
The Waking Voice Method™
The Waking Voice Method™ is built on a simple principle:
👉 Phonation is phonation
There isn’t one system for speaking and another for singing—
only one system that can be coordinated efficiently or inefficiently.
This approach focuses on:
- Reducing unnecessary effort
- Building proper vocal coordination
- Developing awareness of vocal habits
So your voice becomes:
- More stable
- More consistent
- Less effortful
What This Work Addresses
- Vocal strain and tension
- Weak or breathy tone
- Breaks and instability in the voice
- Limited range
- Inconsistent performance
👉 These are not separate problems—they are different expressions of the same system

Testimonials
“Hey Daniel, I’m in South America right now. Just wanted to report in with you. It’s been a grueling tour. Last week was my fifth week and I had six headlining shows tues-sun with a flight every day and some really rough sleep schedules. I was worried about my voice but thanks to your teachings my voice on Sunday night was just as strong if not stronger than it was on Tuesday. Thanks so much man. I will have some time at home in the next couple months and want to check in with you again and do some more lessons” [text message from Mike]
I started with Daniel just over a year ago, and he has helped me access areas of my voice I hadn’t known existed. A few months ago, I literally felt a back room in my voice I had never accessed before.
Without fail, either through lack of sleep, dehydration, the weather, yelling, or earlier bad habits, my voice has always found a way to be thrown off-balance. But those worries are now in the past. I’ve found a rehabilitation center, in the 45-minute weekly lesson, where my voice enters the hands of a vocal surgeon. I enter with a voice tensed up and short on range, and I leave with an instrument I can be proud of.
On top of all that, it doesn’t hurt that Daniel’s an all-around great guy, making lessons not only instructive, but enjoyable.
5 stars. Highly Recommend.
